In the summer of 2009, my sister and I completed a voyage that many people only read about. We navigated a 16-foot aluminum Duroboat, on a 6,000-mile journey around the entire eastern portion of the United States, via waterway, a route known as THE GREAT LOOP.
We called the trip our “Small Boat Big Summer. We’re sisters, so the acronym for our trip morphed from SBBS to SiBBS (short for siblings.)

Hi Ladies:
You may remember me from last year. I am Jill Gunzenhauser’s brother and I spoke with your dad a few times prior to your depature. I followed your postings every chance and have since printed it off and shared it with some of my friends. An amazing feat to say the least!!!
I’m wanting to go on a 5-7 day intercoastal or river trip next summer and I was hoping you could tell me which stretch to run. I’ll be doing it in a 17′ john boat so good water is a must but a close second will be lots of good taverns, night clubs, hotels, fun fun fun etc. Nice flat calm water without much traffic is easy to find I’m sure. I’m thinking if all esle fails, the word “neat” or “fun” could suffice for the 7 days. Can you possibly go back in your journal and line me out a route that will meet my demands?
I eagerly await your response.
Best Regards:
John Carpenter
